With this update, the Mi A2 will be the first Xiaomi Android One model to receive the stable Android Pie update. The update is pretty quick compared to how the Mi A1 received Android Oreo. The same fate may befall A1, but this is still unknown. But the Mi A2 Lite is likely to receive an update to Android Pie on New Year’s Eve or early January.

As a reminder, Android Pie includes several cool features such as adaptive battery, night mode, app actions, app timer, adaptive brightness, slicers, accessibility menu, easier text selection, new screenshot shortcut, new home button , new gesture navigation, easier screen rotation, internal Wi-Fi RTT navigation, improved Do Not Disturb mode, lock mode, 157 new emojis, multi-camera support, and more.
