28 Chinese companies and organizations are on the American black list. Each of these firms is engaged in the creation and development of face recognition systems.
The US administration has banned 28 companies from cooperating with suppliers from the United States. The ruling circles also decided to block the purchase of components necessary for the development of face recognition systems. The official reason is human rights threats.
Brands such as Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology and Zheijiang Dahua Technology, two of the largest video recognition-capable video equipment companies, have been blacklisted. Among the “excluded” companies are also those organizations that are responsible for data analysis and the use of artificial intelligence for this purpose.
It is currently unknown whether Chinese companies will be able to find some workaround for the current situation.
